Willie's Kids namesake, Willie Nelson, has taught us to always stand up for the underdog. A decade ago, he sent his daughter, Amy Nelson, and granddaughter, Raelyn Nelson, to Washington DC with animal lobbyist, Chris Heyde, in order to lobby for the SAFE Act, the Safeguard American Food Exports Act which would end all slaughter of American horses for meat abroad. The experience and the fight inspired the Nelson family to start a non-profit organization that would raise awareness through activism, legislation, and humane education. Our goal is to create a compassion based humane education curriculum that is taught in schools globally.
